Drill Permit And Contractor Secured For The Lara Copper Project In Southern Peru
November 8, 2010 (TSX Venture: LRA) – Lara Exploration Ltd. (“Lara” or “the Company”) is pleased to report that it has been issued drill permits and secured a team to resume drilling on behalf of joint venture partner Redzone Resources Ltd (“Redzone”) at its Lara Copper Project in southern Peru. The Company has mobilized geologists and a field team to the project to complete site preparation and has contracted Lima-based MDH Perforacion Diamantina (“MDH”) to begin drilling in the coming weeks.
The proposed drill program initially comprises 16 diamond drillholes for a total of approximately 2,000 metres. The program aims to test near-surface oxide copper mineralization not previously considered in resource estimates, to laterally extend the zone of supergene enriched copper mineralization outlined in previous programs and scout drill the underlying porphyry. The length of the drillholes will mostly range from 80 to 120 metres, with two deeper holes projected to 300-350 metres depth.
Andre Gauthier, Lara President stated: “We are excited to finally be back drilling on this very prospective property and the Lara geological team is confident that this next drilling program will increase the known copper resources. Permitting and good community relations are two very important aspects of any mining exploration project and the Company is very pleased with the support shown by both the local communities and government in moving this project forward”.
